It’s okay to be apprehensive about your cousin coming to town. It’s also okay to set reasonable limits in regard to food or toy sharing. Obviously if Liz gets rambunctious with the belly or ear rubbing for Buster in a way that leaves you feeling neglected or jealous you should express your upset in appropriate ways (such as wistful looks or pathetic-but-adorable whimpering) NOT in unhealthy and counterproductive ways (such as peeing on floors and/or destroying shoes).
These are, mind you, just general guidelines.
I have a few cousins that annoy me as well – but I don’t get to growl at them when I see them. You’re not alone in that way.
